Myōga-akujō [茗荷悪尉] Noh Mask

In Noh tradition, Myōga-akujō is a specialized akujo-type mask used for powerful divine or semi-divine figures and, in some roles, eccentric foreigners. The myōga-shaped eyes—inner corners lifted, outer corners drooping—create a gaze that can feel demanding, foolish, or strangely ambiguous, depending on how the mask is tilted. Carved wood, pronounced cheekbones, deep wrinkles and the long beard together form a compact but intense “Myōga-akujō mask” suited to close looking and quiet study.
